Gay's The Word is the UK's first (and last surviving) lesbian and gay bookshop. It was founded in 1979 and stocks a huge range of books as well as hosting author signings and events.

B. The London Review Bookshop - 14 Bury Place, WC1A 2JL
The London Review Bookshop is located in the heart of Bloomsbury. It's a well-established destination for book lovers as well as serving excellent tea, coffee and cake.

Stanfords is the UK's leading specialist retailer of maps, travel books and other travel accessories, having been established in 1853 by Edward Standford. The flagship store in Covent Garden opened in  January 1901 and can justly claim to offer the world's largest stock of maps and travel books under one roof.

Goldsboro Books is the UK's largest specialist in first edition signed books. The shop is located in the heart of the West End, and a stone's throw from Leicester Square.

H. Waterstones - 203-206 Piccadilly, W1J 9HD
Waterstones first opened in Old Brompton Road, 1982. It now trades from nearly 300 shops on high streets, in shopping centres, and on University Campuses across the UK.
I. Hatchards - 187 Piccadilly, W1J 9LE
Founded by John Hatchard in 1797, Hatchards is the oldest bookshop in London and the UK. The original Piccadilly Store stocks a wide range of books including many signed and special editions.
