Testimonials
Being able to travel to an event like the LBF without having to worry about accommodation was particularly good. The stress avoided by knowing that overnight arrangements were already dealt with meant that I was able to focus on the LBF itself. As a first time attendee, this meant that I was free to enjoy and explore the book fair. Thank You. (Xavier Morcrette - Bookshop Chapter One Bookshop )

We thought the program the BA put together was exciting, practical and easy to access and it would be the main reason we'd look to come again to LBF. (Mog, Warwick Books)

As an Indie still in my first year of trading it was a brilliant way to talk to people who were also new to Bookselling and also to talk to more experienced sellers. The PA meeting was brilliant, lots of first hand information from the publicists and also useful to gauge the reaction of other booksellers regarding new releases. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again next year. (Lesslie Oliver, Bookshop The Bookworm at Selkirk )

London Book & Screen Week

Academic Book Trade Conference 2017

The Academic Book Trade Conference took place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon on the 18th and 19th May.

The 2017 Conference programme, produced by Linda Bennett of Gold Leaf, and the BA, focussed on The Teaching Excellence Framework [TEF] and student engagement.

To support the conference, Gold Leaf produced an extensive report commissioned by the BA, exploring the TEF landscape and its likely effect on key stakeholders  - booksellers, publishers, academics, librarians, university administrators, and, of course, students.

Click here for more information on the report and its findings

Download the order form for your copy of the TEF report

Over the course of the day and a half conference delegates enjoyed a number of highly informative and engaging presentations, held together in style by Conference Chairman, Richard Fisher. Richard interviewed Sir David Bell, KCB, VC University of Reading and former OFSTED Chief; and there  were keynotes from Stephen Lotinga, CEO of the Publishers Association; Peter Lake, Group Business Director, John Smith's and Richard Stagg, Publishing Director of Pearson.

Bertrams and Dawson Books sponsored the business programme and Talis the Conference registration and refreshment breaks
