Bookselling Ireland


Bookselling Ireland represents booksellers in Ireland as in run by a committee of booksellers, chaired by Dawn Behan of Woodbine Books, and backed by the BA. The Bookselling Ireland Committee, which meets six times a year, is the force behind Irish Book Week, which launched in 2018, the Irish Book Trade Conference, as well as World Book Day and Independent Bookshop Week in Ireland.

In February 2023, Bookselling Ireland & Publishing Ireland held their annual Irish Book Trade Conference on at the Clayton Hotel, Cork City. 

The 2023 programme included:

  • Trade Show featuring publishers and other trade exhibitors on the afternoon of Monday, February 27th
  • Bookshop Tour of Cork City following the Trade Show
  • Conference Drinks Reception and Dinner for all delegates on Monday evening
  • Comprehensive Conference Programme on Tuesday, February 28th
  • Includes Keynote Author Speakers, Industry Leader Debate on the Value of Books, Latest Insights into the Irish Consumer Market, Practical Bookselling sessions including Stock & Margin management, Digital Marketing and Events, launch of the New Manifesto for Irish Booksellers, launch of new Bookselling Ireland member resources and international bookseller delegates as part of the RISE programme
